Expertise, commitment and enjoyment
Winemakers are gardeners who shape the vine-covered hills. We tend the vines with this idea in our heads, endeavouring to respect the environment in every way possible.
the wine for sharing
The word Agapé comes from the Greek for unconditional love and it sums up perfectly the winery’s philosophy.
We are driven by our love of the terroir and the vines, hard work and wine as a way of life! But possibly even more importantly, we also love sharing our wines and getting together to celebrate what nature has offered us.
One of the great pleasures of making wine is also the enjoyment of sharing it with others, meeting people and talking about wine. Anyone who has already been to our winery knows that wine is a way of life that we share.

The benefits of organic production
We put a lot of time and effort into caring for our vines, using organic methods which align closely with natural cycles. Most of our parcels are vinified separately, with minimal intervention.
From plant to fruit
Among the vines
We make our own compost for fertilising the vines. The vines are ploughed every second row in spring to unpack the soil and stimulate it when it heats up. The aim is to produce healthy grapes, with good aromatic concentration. We use a horse-drawn plough for narrow and isolated parcels. Pruning, binding, debudding, trellising and leaf removal, as well as the actual harvesting, are all carried out manually.

Harvesting
Harvesting is a crucial step, where it is vital to make sure that the grapes have reached optimum maturity for producing well-balanced, fresh and expressive wines free of any heaviness. The grapes are carefully sorted at picking and gently pressed in whole bunches.

From grape to wine
In the cellar
The grape juice ferments gently, in vats and stainless-steel tanks. After racking, the wines are allowed to mature on fine lees before they are bottled the following summer. Our Pinots are aged in burgundy casks or in barrels. All our wine is dry, except the late-harvested Helios range.

We believe organic agriculture is also a way of expressing a social bond, where artisanal work allows everyone to achieve their aims.
